It happens every winter. From the earliest of times - this winter of the Cape of Storms. And that Mountain spills its grey clouds over the flat lands of the inner City. It is just how it has always been here - cold, wet, freezing winter days.
She is coming over the seas in full force, says the weatherman - and she arrived as scheduled. We even have some snow expected for the Mountain - a little bit, but still.

"The cold front is making landfall in the Western Cape [on Friday] afternoon and is expected to bring heavy rainfall, which could lead to localised flooding," forecaster Vanetia Phakula said. Parts of the Cape Metropole, Overberg, and the Cape Winelands could experience localised flooding from rain expected until Saturday"
My thoughts are with those ones that live in this City in tin-houses and deep in the bushes. I am saddened that anyone has to endure such a storm in such a way. This, too, has been the real Cape Town for ages - those who sleep warm and those who battle to get warm.
And then I am reminded as well: This same stormy Cape Town weather brought fortune to me centuries ago - when ships had to be diverted away from Table Bay to False Bay, and I was gifted a farm in the Noordhoek valley to produce veggies for those sailors....
Each cloud brings rain, and a silver lining - I guess.
